End of NitroPack Compatibility for Magento Stores: What You Need to Know
Updated today

Beginning May 1, 2025, NitroPack will no longer support Magento stores, meaning that product upgrades, fixes, and patches will no longer be available.

However, services will remain operational for existing Magento customers until December 1, 2025, though we cannot guarantee continued service availability after that date.

We understand this change may impact your plans, and our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible.

To support you, we’ve prepared a list of questions and answers to guide you through this transition and clarify what to expect.

When is the official end date for NitroPack support on Magento?

  • End of Sale: February 5, 2024
No new subscriptions or upgrades can be purchased after this date.

  • End of Support: May 1, 2025
No further customer support will be provided after this date.

  • End of Life: May 1, 2025
Discontinuation of product development, including fixes and patches. Services will remain operational for existing customers without any guarantee of service availability.

  • End of Service: December 1, 2025
NitroPack ceases running optimizations on all existing Magento stores.

Why is NitroPack ending support for Magento?

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to concentrate our resources on delivering even more powerful and specialized optimizations within the WordPress ecosystem. This shift allows us to refine our technology, enhance our features, and focus on innovations that cater specifically to the needs of WordPress users.

Will my existing NitroPack optimizations stop working immediately?

No, the service won’t stop optimizing your website immediately. If you have an existing subscription, NitroPack will continue to optimize your website until December 1, 2025. However, considering that no product upgrades, fixes, and patches will be provided after May 1, 2025, and the fact that we cannot guarantee the availability of our service after this date, we recommend switching to an alternative solution.

What alternatives to NitroPack are available for Magento?

There are many web performance optimization alternatives available in the Adove Commerce Extensions repository for Magento. Some plugins you might give a try include:

Will I still have access to my NitroPack account and data after the end of life date?

Yes, you will have access to your account, performance data, and other settings until you delete your account OR until December 1, 2025. We recommend gathering any data you need from NitroPack before the end of the year and/or before deleting your account.

How to remove NitroPack from my Magento store?

  1. Put your store in maintenance mode

  2. Deactivate the NitroPack extension

  3. Remove the extension files via Composer

  4. Finalize the uninstallation

  5. Clean up your cache

  6. Disable maintenance mode

Will there be support available to troubleshoot issues that arise after removal?

Yes, until May 1, 2025, you can rely on our Technical Support team to answer any questions regarding the process.

Are there any security implications I need to be aware of when removing NitroPack?

While removing NitroPack itself doesn’t introduce new security risks, it’s important to note that after May 1, 2025, NitroPack will no longer provide security patches for Magento. To protect your site from potential vulnerabilities, we recommend finding an alternative optimization solution before the end-of-support date. This will help ensure your website remains secure and fully optimized moving forward.

Is there a possibility of NitroPack returning to these platforms in the future?

Currently, NitroPack is focusing its resources on enhancing optimization solutions for the WordPress ecosystem. While we have no immediate plans to reintroduce support for Magento and OpenCart, we continually assess market needs and user feedback.

What happens if I decide to switch to WordPress?

To continue using your existing subscription and NitroPack’s optimizations on WordPress, you need to:

  1. Delete your current website from your NitroPack account

  2. Add it again

  3. Connect it to WordPress
