When running a Site Speed Test in NitroPack, our system analyzes your website in real time to show how much faster it can be. In some cases, we’re unable to generate a site speed report due to technical issues with the website’s response or configuration.
Read on to learn the most common reasons why your test may have failed and how you can address them.
Why did my report fail to generate?
There are several reasons why NitroPack might not be able to generate your site speed report:
🔺 SSL issues – We couldn’t establish a secure connection. Please check your SSL certificate.
🔺 Page errors (4xx/5xx) – The page is blocked, missing, or the server is returning an error.
🔺 Unreachable or unsupported pages – The website might be using AMP or returning an empty response.
🔺 Oversized content – HTML pages larger than 5MB can’t be processed.
🔺 Too many redirects – The test was interrupted by excessive redirection loops.
How to fix it
Here are a few ways to resolve the most common issues:
1. Check your SSL certificate
Ensure your SSL is valid and properly installed. Use tools like SSL Labs to test your certificate.
2. Make sure your site is publicly accessible
Avoid using firewalls or security plugins that block NitroPack’s IPs. If you're blocking external traffic, consider allowlisting NitroPack’s servers.
3. Verify that the tested URL is correct and live
Double-check that the page exists, loads normally, and doesn’t require login or special permissions.
4. Avoid testing AMP pages
NitroPack’s Site Speed Test does not currently support AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages). Use a standard desktop/mobile URL instead.
5. Reduce page size
If your homepage or tested page exceeds 5MB in raw HTML, consider optimizing it by removing unnecessary inline scripts or markup.
6. Fix redirect chains
Make sure your page doesn’t loop or bounce between multiple URLs. Tools like Redirect Checker can help spot issues.
