Pageviews and CDN Bandwidth Resource Usage

NitroPack tracks pageviews only on your optimized pages. You can find your website's optimized pages in the “Optimizations” panel in your NitroPack account.

Pageviews on non-optimized pages don’t count towards your plan’s limit. Bots and crawlers (like Googlebot) also don’t add up pageviews when they land on a page.

Your CDN usage only increases when your website’s visitors are served resources (images, CSS, JavaScript) from the edge location nearest to them. In other words, only the traffic generated by a visit to a page that has to fetch resources from our CDN is accumulated towards your plan’s CDN limit.

As a result, when resources can be served from the browser’s cache, the CDN bandwidth stays the same.

For example, if one user visits the same page five times, NitroPack counts that as five pageviews. However, on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th visit, the user can be served content (like static resources) from the browser’s cache. In that case, the pageview count increases, but the CDN usage stays the same after the first visit.

You can track your resource usage in the NitroPack Dashboard.

Reaching Your Pageviews or CDN Limit

If you max out your monthly pageviews or CDN bandwidth, NitroPack will automatically be disabled. Your website will continue to function normally, but NitroPack won’t optimize it.

You can continue using NitroPack by:
  • Waiting until the next month when your resource usage resets
  • Upgrading to a pricing plan with more resources
Also, keep an eye on your email. We send out an alert when you reach 80% of your pageviews or CDN bandwidth. Additionally, you get a notification email after consuming 100% of either resource. This lets you know that NitroPack will be disabled automatically.
