Installing and Upgrading to the Latest Version of NitroPack
Updated over a month ago

Important: Our team has implemented a new solution to ensure NitroPack users receive updates for the plugin. While there are no pending security updates for NitroPack, this manual update ensures that your sites will be ready to receive new features, bug fixes, and security updates automatically going forward.

Note: WP Engine and Flywheel hosting customers are unaffected and do not need to manually install this update to continue to receive automatic updates.

We implemented the solution because we cannot deploy updates for NitroPack via WordPress.org. While NitroPack continues to function normally, users who usually update it using wp-admin will be unable to update to newer versions automatically.

Here’s how to do the update:

How to Update NitroPack

To update NitroPack and receive updates in the future, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the official NitroPack zip file: https://nitropack.io/download/get/rLBmQYCKdsuvSHKH

  2. Log in to your WordPress admin account (/wp-admin)

  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add new

    1. Upload the zip file

    2. Confirm you want to replace the existing NitroPack plugin

Future updates for the plugin will be available in the WordPress admin as usual.

How to Install NitroPack

If you are installing NitroPack for the first time on your site, follow these steps:

  1. Download the official NitroPack zip file: https://nitropack.io/download/get/rLBmQYCKdsuvSHKH

  2. Log in to your WordPress admin account (/wp-admin)

  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add new

    1. Upload the zip file

    2. Click ‘Activate Plugin’

That’s it! Your plugin is now installed, active, and ready to use on your website.

How to Update Other WP Engine Plugins

WordPress.org is currently preventing WP Engine’s free plugins from being updated

automatically from wp-admin. If you have sites that run multiple WP Engine plugins, future updates have been made easier with the new ‘WP Engine Secure Updater’ plugin.
