NitroPack lets you choose between 5 optimization modes from the “Settings” menu. You can experiment with them and see which one suits you best.
Important Note: After switching between modes, save your settings and purge your cache from the Dashboard so NitroPack re-optimizes your site's pages. The changes will take effect after the new optimizations are done.
The Standard and Medium Modes
These are our two most stable but least powerful modes.
They implement multiple speed optimization methods that improve your website’s performance without being too aggressive.
Both modes use built-in browser techniques for loading resources, instead of our custom coded mechanism. This makes them very safe, at the expense of page speed.
The Strong Mode
The Strong mode is faster and more aggressive than the previous two.
It uses advanced features like automatic image lazy loading, font definition modification and a special resource loading mechanism.
The Strong mode strikes a great balance between stability and website speed.
While it does load resources differently, the Strong mode doesn’t delay resources automatically. That’s why it usually doesn’t produce the highest-possible page speed scores.
The Ludicrous Mode (Default)
This is our most aggressive and best-performing mode.
It delays JS scripts and prioritizes HTML and CSS to achieve the highest-possible page speed scores.
If you’re using one of our other modes, test Ludicrous on a few pages. Here’s how you can do that in 5 minutes.
The Manual Mode
The Manual mode is designed for tech-savvy users who need to solve complex technical issues. That’s why we strongly recommend that you don’t tweak any of the Advanced features unless it’s absolutely necessary.
We’ve arrived at the default NitroPack setup through tons of testing and iterations. Our current settings ensure stability for all users, regardless of their technical expertise.
If you don’t have a specific reason for changing this default setup, you shouldn’t use the Manual mode.
